Throughout your UIW education, the laptop will be a critical tool in your learning. Your classes may require you to do a PowerPoint presentation - or research a subject over the Internet - or compose a web page to illustrate a key concept from your classes. We'll teach you how. You need to learn the skills that will enable you to get a job or smoothly transition into UIW graduate school after your undergraduate degree is completed. After 3 years, the laptop will be yours at a buyout price of $1. If you leave school before the 3 years, you can elect to assume the laptop payments through a separate lending agency, or simply turn the computer back to the University. (How Much Do I Pay?) Starting in the Fall 2002, all full-time UIW undergraduate students, from sophomores to Seniors. Although not required to participate, freshmen may opt into the program. The UIW learning community will include technology applications in courses so that you will learn how to collaborate, communicate, and apply your skills flexibly to successfully meet the challenges of the future! |
