Software Load
- Microsoft Windows 2000
- Microsoft Office 2000 Professional will be installed on all ThinkPads owned by
the University. This includes PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and FrontPage 2000.
- Standard University Tools such as FTP utilities and
an anti-virus programs will
be installed.
Insurance Program
- Each ThinkPad is covered by an
insurance policy which is included in the cost of
the program.
- The insurance covers warranty, maintenance repairs, manufacturing
defects and theft. There is a $250 deductible borne by
student who are leasing over six semesters. Beginning in
Fall 2002, the deductible is $500 for all new students
entering the program. A minimum of $100 per repair will
be charged for major repairs. If student negligence is
determined BY THE INSURANCE CARRIER, then actual repair costs
will be charged the student.
- If your laptop is stolen, you must report it to the Technical Support Services
Help Desk and a police report brought to the Help Desk.
- If your laptop is stolen and
you turn in a valid police report, you will pay a $500
deductible. The University will replace one
stolen laptop
only. If your replacement laptop is subsequently stolen,
you will bear the full replacement costs.
